this is the first suzuki i have taken the hood off of.
my cousin asked me to help him fix his boat..... i work on a few and have had great success, but im not willing to buy a book for his eng.... im gonna try to get him to buy one since he will need it later.. or i will, lol.
he works off and doesnt have a cell phone so i have no clue what year the eng is.i know its a suzuki and im pretty sure it is a 115hp..thats what my cousin said. as far as i know he had just purchased it, then tagged it, then went to the water for a ride and had no reverse. the tag says: suzuki dt 115 ,and under it is the serial #: it has 11502 then in hte main area it has 507438.
i have unhooked the shifter cable and it moves freely, but when its hooked to the eng it still only goes into forward. without the cable attached you have to hold it in gear or it slips back far enough to go into neutral but the shift lever doesnt go to the neutral position.
can someone give me an idea for something simple to look for first?.... or is it in the clutch dog?... im thinking it a prob deep inside.
i have done all kinds of stuff with my merc, evin, and johnson.......... but havent been inside of any of the lu's.
any help would be much appreciated.
