No spark #1 cyl 85 hp,,how to tie into 2nd powerpak

Working on a buddys 1988 85 hp force,there is no spark on #1 cyl. Have tested coil,stator checks out,triggers check out, have narrowed it down to 1st powerpak. i want to tie into the 2nd half of the 2nd powerpak,,I am told that this is done quite frequently. My question is,what is the best way to do this,,,I assume just transferring wires on terminal block from #1 trigger,to where wires would be for a 4 cylinder on terminal block would be a start,but not sure where to go from there. Not sure how the stator wires tie into the system from there.

Just swap the CD module assemblies with each other.

Unfortunatly(Ithink) if the #1 of either pack doesn't work it won't swap.
Something about the trigger wiring??
Your best bet if the pack is really bad,buy a used one off e-bay.

I'd try replacing all the wire connectors on all the pieces,stator,trigger and both packs.
The wire ends get vibrations and after time they break loose.
They are shrink wrapped and look good but inside they are broken.
I bought a GOOD??? Complete setup.
Packs,trigger,stator and coils etc.
Put it on a motor and it wouldn't work.
So after a BUNCH of looking,I realized the connectors were not connecting.
I replaced them and now not a bit of trouble.
I did the second motor,just to be sure.
