Hi, I have a 2000 Tracker Bigfoot 3 cyl 60. with no spark. boat was running great and quit while trying to load . I have found a manual online and have started to diagnose. here is what I've found so far.
when checking Black w Yellow kill wire, by unplugging, I have one side that stays grounded, is this correct? I have 3 wires instead of 2. with 2 connectors, one connector has 2 wires in it so makes me having 3 wires. when separated and checking individually, I have one that stays grounded. I guess that is correct so it can ground and kill the engine but makes me think when I plug wires back together the whole system is grounded right so what am I missing?
Also to throw in confusion, I went on to check stator and trigger. Stator has no continunity when ohm checking between green and white wires but does produce about 300 volts AC when cranking and trigger about 3 volts. With stator having an open but producing voltage what do you think?
Not sure now if I have a kill circuit problem or a stator problem. Please advise if I'm checking correctly, Thanks
