1988 45 classic. No spark intermitantly. Runs good then makes a clicking noise then dies and will not fire. No spark what so ever. Unhooked engine harness from side of motor and jumped solonoid, still no spark. I'm on the way to get a manual from west marine. Also volt gauge showed 18 volts just before it died. Dont know if gauge is good or not. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rudy.

The voltmeter is probably alright, disconnect the blk/yellow wire at the switchbox and recheck for spark then if the book don't help get back to us

Thanks laddies. The yellow/black wire didnt change anything. I got a seloc and started to check the resistance on the stator and its low. Way out of spec. I cant finish right now due to a severe thunderstorm. I'll finish checking the resistance and get back to yall. Thanks again.

Re: No spark on 45 horse

Ok, finally figured it out. The tell-tail had a cut in it and would fill up the motor area faster than it could drain. And when the water rose to the harness connector, it shorted the enricher out flooding the engine with gas. Just dried the motor and it cranks back up. Man that hose is a buger to get to. Thanks to all that replied.
