That doesn't leave much to be the culprit. If your points are gapped at .020 and the coil is aligned with the machined edges on the armature plate, that just leaves two possibilities. First, if there's a lead wire coming from the offending cylinder's point to elsewhere in the engine, make sure it is not shorted to ground. It should read about 1 ohm to ground through the coil though, and 0 when the point is closed (obviously). Disconnect it from the point and test to be sure.<br />Second - that coil. If it's original (pink clearish potting) chances are like 99% it's shot. New ones can be gotten for less than $15US. Best price I've seen in Canada is $30CDN.<br />EDIT: Forgot to answer your question - the only reliable way to test would be to swap it with your other coil. They'll sometimes arc over only at higer RPMS/armature plate positions, so even this test will make a bad coil seem good sometimes.<br /><br />Good luck!
