no spark on any cylinder

i have a 1978 85 hp evinrude that has no spark on any cylinder. i did some resistance checking and turned out my stator was bad. i replaced my stator and still have no spark. i was given a diagram to test everything related to the stator, odly enough everything test fine. can anyone help, im out of ideas

i would make sure ur timer base not only tests good,but is not shorted to ground,then,..i'd stick a pwr pack on it.....

also,.....ck to make sure u have 0 volts on blk/yellow wire..
have u disc the big red elect plug and tried the spark test...?
u can slso,ck the kill wire system,..by just taking it off the pack(blk/yell) wire,and do spark test,

Most of those tests are made on a running motor but you can do the ohm tests statically.

The bottom line is, your motor will not fire at under 250 RPM and should have 300 for best output.

the blk/ylw wire goes directly from the pack to a molded 4 post plug the only way i can eliminate that wire is to cut it loose. unless you are talking about a different wire. as for the rpm issue, that is something ive wondered about, it seems to be turning the same as when it was running but im really not sure how to get an accurate count on it. if it does turn out to be an rpm issue would that tie back to the starter or what would be causing this

You can test the kill circuit by disconnecting the large red plug then jumping the starter at the engine. You will have to choke the engine to shut it off if it starts.
