I have a 1962 evinrude 10 hp. I had carb. trouble but JB helped with that it will run now but, now it fires on the lower cyl. but none one top cyl. My question now is is there a way to check the coil& condenser with a multimeter? I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff I don't need.I don't want to buy a manual on the engine I have not payed for the motor yet. I got it from my boss he don't want to have me pay for something that won't run til I get it running and satisfied with it .sounds a little weird but he to pay for it if it is no good.

bad coil, or points usually, if it's that old, you're best off taking off the flywheel, and replacing the points,anyway. after that it will probably work.

There are ways to test the condensers. I am not sure how without a capacitance meter. The coils can be tested with an ohm meter, but they can test good cold and not good hot. If they look darkened/burnt or if they have any cracks then replace them.
