Are there any tests that can be done to diagnose the swichbox, or trigger in the distributer, without the ignition analyzer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The mercury switch has also been dissconnected.
If you put a jumper wire between the white/black and the blue terminals on the switchbox and then disconnect the black wire from the distributor and hook up a jumper wire to the ground terminal and touch it to ground it will trigger the pack to fire, by using a spark checker. This will confirm that the switchbox is good and the problem is in the trigger witch is in the distributor. Replaced the trigger unit and the system worked perfectly. I posted this info in case antbody else runs into the same problem.
