I have had a problem getting my boat started. as explained in a previous post I have a new 5.7 but of the 1988 vintage in a 21' Celebrity 210V. Every thing under the hood so to speak is new or has been replaced. I have recently developed an issue and have not been able to get a spark. I traced it back to a faulty worn out safety cutt-off swich on my dash board. once I fixed (jumpered) it all of my gauges began to work, suddenly I got 12v at the pos+ on the coil. Tried to turn over, No Start, I noticed that the electric choke of my Edelbrock 4 barrel (a 1409 marine model) was open and the actuator was very hot as in to hot to touch. I still don't have a spark. I am assuming the cut-off switch was part of the problem but not all of the spark problem. over heating choke activator or whatever it is called makes me think a grounding issue may prevail. Please help, I know that this is a simple fix, I have check all wirirng that is ignition/engine related for breaks or bad connections. cant find any thing. yet the failure was on water and it seamed like someone pulled a plug on me. finding the emergency shut-off had failed, I thought a quick repair would restore spark. Wrong, Please help me not waste the rest of this weekend. Thanks
