No spark - where do I start

Folks,

Went to start the engine - running fine a couple of days ago - and it would not start. Its a 1988 25HP electric. Cranks fine - new battery. Fuel in the tank and can see flow in the fule bowl when I squeeze the primer line. Disconnected the kill switch line - no help. Pulled and cleaned both plugs - no help.

Checked both plugs - no apparent spark (hard to see with gapless plugs).

Manual suggests pulling the fly wheel - which I don't have to tools to do.

Is there anything else I should look at prior to finding a mechanic??

Thanks,

Dave

Tiller or remote?Either way did you unplug both of those kill switches?

I have remote controls. I disconnected the kill switch line (black/yellow) on the right side of the engine as you face it - near the switch block. This is the only kill switch line I am aware of. Where is the other?

I have been having hard starting problems all summer - which I though a new battery had corrected.

On the last running I had a problem where the engine would not shift into neutral. An other post spoke of a neutral kill switch so that you could only start the engine in neutral. Could this be the problem and if so what do I look for?

Sorry but I do not understand the terms used. What is OEM resistance, CDI resistance and DVA? The only test tool I have is a a small digital volt ohm meter.

Also where do I find these wires / connectors?

Many thanks,

Dave
