I have a 1976 johnson 55 HP 2 cyl that the last time we took it out it stopped running and when I checked it had no spark on either cylinder. I pulled the flywheel and stator looks fine, no indication of arcing wires, but I bought a used power pack and put it on and it ran for about 5 secs and quit....again no spark. Pulled flywheel again and timing base, nothiing out of the norm there, except is the Delron ring supposed to have a split in it. I read Joe Reeves remarks on Post 189 about checking the kill wire and when I did I got a reading of about 1.9 so I suspect the ignition switch, but again no bare or loose wires and no sign of arc. ANy suggestions before I blow another power pack?
