no spark?????

hello all I have a volvo penta aq225 I changed the dizzy from a points system to a ready to run dizzy.... boat has been working great.... planned a tubing trip today so I started the boat lastnight just to make sure... cranked on the first turn of the key..... got to the boat ramp this morning and it wouldnt start..... checked for spark from coil it sparks when the key is turned on and off but no park while its turning over..... changed coil same issue.... maybe the electric module burned out????? how can I test it??? any suggestions

now the coil makes a sweaking sound when the key is turned on???????????????

Ayuh,... but,.. What is the New distributer, 'n How is it wired,..??

it is a ready to run distributor its has a pos and neg coming out pos is hook to ign and pos coil side and ground is on neg coil side... it has been running fine for 2 months then today didnt want to start

Ayuh,... That's a problem in of itself,... It Ain't Marine...

Marine Distributers are igntion protected, 'n Don't have a vacuum advance....

Send it back, it's not marine, therefore it's an explosion hazard, second marine distributors do not have vacuum advances, third the advance is all wrong for marine use.

yeah i took it off and put the old one back..... now i forgot how it was wired

Ayuh,... Postive to the (+) side of the coil,...
(-) side of the coil to the points....
