No spark?

Hi guys,
My 1998 Evinrude 25 isnt sparking. There is a crack in the Powerpack/Cdi unit as pictured. The coil terminals have quite abit of rust on them also. Could this be the problem?

Yup, Cracks allow moister to enter grounding or shorting out the spark. $$$ BOAT...Bring Out Another Thousand.

It may not be the prob but I would replace it on G P's.

Thanks for the info guys, is there a way to test the pack before i splash out ?100?
Also the engine did fire on one occation but hasnt sparked since. Does that sound like the power pack?

If you have an OEM factory service manual, an open air gap spark tester and a peak reading volt meter or an ohmmeter with a DVA adapter you can check them out.
