Dead in Water, check the coil situation......Make sure the wire to the coil is hot also. Are your points set right? check it out and let us know....Goodluck....BushCat

Re: No spark

First thing to check is the kill circuit. I don't know your particular motor so I can't tell you exactly how to check. I'm sure someone else will help.

Deadman, that is truly wierd..... Walker may be on to something...Do you have a mercury switch(switch that kills ignition when motor is up) on that motor. I have never seen a coil go out that fast....Coils usually start going out after they heat up, due to the windings breaking down, and as the coil heats up it expands thus pulling the wirea apart. Anyway stay on it...... Goodluck....BushCat
