no start merc 200

Hello, I have a mercruiser 200 that is about 10/12 years old It sat and hasn't been run for about 1 year I replaced the battery's and tryed to start it up it spins fine but does not start it had always fired right up. would old gas cause this it dosen't even act like it is trying to start, were should I start to look Thanks Michael

First and formost check for spark then replace fuel lines and give it a good carb clean
