Re: No start

OK,,i went out and checked the batteries and they are both fully charged as usual so then I took off the helmet and saw that the starter wasn't engaging the flywheel so I whacked it a few times with a hammer and it worked. Should I trust this starter? While I'm here I have a second question, I have two deep-cycle batteries hooked up together and so far they both are staying fully charged by the motor. I have a trolling motor with a 12V deep-cycle battery that I take on and off my boat along with the trolling motor which is a pain, can my motor charge all three batteries?

Again thanks in advance.

Re: No start

The gear on the starter is supposed to slide freely up and down. Give it a shot of some WD-40 on the shaft and it should be fine as long as the battery is fully charged and all connections are good. Don't want to over do it with the lubricant on the shaft.

I charge 2 deep cycle batteries with my motor. I guess it'll charge 3, but probably at a slower rate. Depending on which stator you have, the battery charge system is charging at either 9 amps or 16 amps.
