no tilt/no start/no fuel gauge

rebuilt 87 115 merc flawless for almost 3 years of predominant salt water.3 days ago no start..finally caught took it home..changed shifter cables...hooked batt back up...tilt ok crank ok...added h20,ran it, went thru gears, aok..plans for short run ..trimmed up...tried down ...nada...no crank ..no gauge..no tilt..all other power works. whats loose or corroded...test lite has been everywhere..seems good

Did you check the main engine fuse at the motor?

papa, found two fuses on motor, checked w/ test lite cleaned sockets w/ electric parts cleaner...perf i don't believe i have a ground strip...i've had the boat for 4+ years...never seen one anywhere...i do know what they look like ..i've a friend w/ 48 ft hatt...and he's got major ground strips in the fly bridge

papasmurf...i cleaned that fuse...all went well til the fuse blew...changed 2 more on the way in..something is shorting now

There is a pinched wire somewhere in the tilt circuit from what you are describing.....and it is grounding out, thus blowing the fuse.
