I went to de winterize the boat mercruiser 3.0, I am not getting any juice at the key and no voltage showing. The blower and lights work. I tried jumping the starter cross the terminals it turns over but would not start. I tried jumping the breaker to see if I got voltage but nothing.I connected jumper cables directly to the started and the ground and nothing at all. Don't know what else to do any help would be appreicated. It ran just fine when I winterized it.

I'm not familiar with those black outdrive systems but if they have any of the big wire harness connector plugs, like my good old white drive has, ;) disconnect them, spray them with an electrical contact spray then push some di-electric grease into the females. It may be a corrorsion issue. Shove the connectors back together, bolt them down and have a go at the key.

Re: no voltage showing

Hello, Boomyal has a very good point. The cannon plugs are known for wiggling loose and for moisture and corrosion issues. Loosen the clamp, pull it off and check it out. While you are at it clean up the battery terminals and check all the connections at the starter to make sure that they are clean and corrosion free. Pull them off, don't just look. Corrosion can seep in between the terminal and the connector. Also has the battery been fully charged prior to returning the boat to service? Just because it runs the lights and the blower does not mean it has enough voltage and amperage to turn the starter. Load test the battery with a battery tester or at least try charging it up a bit. Let us know how it goes. Good luck! ;)
