no water came out of starboard exhaust manifold!

sadly, i started winterizing today.

the port exhaust manifold drained fine per usual. the starboard let out a few drops of rusty water. i poked a tiny screwdriver in to see if i could break up a blockage. nothing.

so where is the water? is it still in the manifold, or did it sneak into the cylinders?

i'm assuming i'll have to be replacing manifolds soon (ugh!), but i plan on taking off the risers this week to see where the water is. any suggestions?

thanks.

There is probably water still in the manifold. The normal water flow pushes all the rust, dirt, corrosion to the back of the manifold and your small screwdriver couldn't get to the end of the clog. Might try removing the hose and L fitting on the front of the manifold to drain.
If the water was going into the cylinders, you would have had a hydrolock.

I have the same problem when i winterizing my boat for first time...And after asking here---Like always THANKS TO DON
He answered to me that water must drain from the manifold...Then i pushed hard with screwdriver and a little help of hammer
and the problem was resolved...
