no water coming out

i have a mercury 7.5 hp outboard serial # 6241553,model # 1007223,i started it up today,and after about 3 minutes run time i noticed it stopped peeing water,i then tought the impeller was bad,so i shut it off right away, and took it apart and noticed the impeller was o.k.could there be anything else that would stop the water from coming out ?

plugged up output on the tattle tail? Not enough water input? When was the last time you ran the motor?

last time i ran motor was 2 weeks ago............

Quite often the pee hole will plug up with debris. If the water pump is good, then it is most likely plugged.

another question: looking down from the top of the drive shaft should the impeller be put in the clockwise or counterclockwise position ?

Look in to cleaning out taletail hose, or water line. alot of time bees or dirtdobbers or other things like to get in them and nest or clog them up. other thing is the impeller will turn its self the right way, a new one it isn't no big deal, but a good used on goes on counter clockwise.
