No water from the pee hole on a DF 4,5 or 6 eh?
Well I had this problem and assumed it was the pump so removed the lower leg, a very easy job, just remove the 2x bolts and take of the rubber grommet and loosen the connecting rod assembly, it will then slide off quite easily.
Then attach an electric drill (make sure the drill turns clock wise) to the main shaft in a bucket of water, it pumped fine with a powerful jet of water so that eliminated that (see photo). If not fit a replacement pump kit.
Then I removed the bolts to separate the power unit from the upper leg (don?t worry no oil is in here) revealing the water ways and was surprised how clean it was, that is all except for a grain of sand that was lodged in the pee hole which is at the very end of the water channel, cleaned that out and reassembled the unit. (See photo). Best advice is attach a tube to this hole (as in photo) and blow hard or poke it with a very small screwdriver before dismantling, it may save a lot of time.
When resembling take care to align the water tube into the pump also the connecting rod sleeve
Most people on here confuse the tell tale water pee hole which is a tiny rubbery hole next to a large drain screw with the upper exhaust port which has exhaust, water and spray coming out, there is also a third small hole that also has spray and exhaust coming out (see photo?s with screw drivers inserted to show the hole positions)
I had to replace the drive shaft housing gasket, which may or may not have been damaged before disassembly, it costs around ?33 so be careful with it.
If this doesn?t cure your problem chances are the thermostat is stuck, this is located under the carburettor.
Good luck let me know if this helped.
