No water out tell-tale

1985 15HP Johnson, I had no tell tale flow so I changed water pump..still no flow. Checked for obstructions in water discharge area, found nothing blocking. Can bad thermostat block water flow out the pisser? Thermostats in this motor are old (I think anyhow). Thanks, Joe.

Sounds like you assembled the pump wrong or missed a seal or proper fit of the tube from the pump housing towards the motor head. Ofcourse the pee hole and water jacket must be free, too. Did you try blowing with an air compressor? Does water show in exhaust? Does the motor heat fast/extremely?
