NO WATER TO THE IMPELLER...

I have owned this boat for several months, took it out 2 times. Both time the bellows brew from the heat. The engine was running hot.
Just recently we test the boat.

1. Removed the manifold bellows/hoses and ran the boat no water was coming out of the manifolds.
2. I back track to the impeller. I ran the boat again while using the muffs. I removed the small hose that is connected to the Impeller housing I was told water should shoot out of the housing. Nothing it was dry.
3. I removed the housing of the impeller, removed the impeller and ran the boat to see if water was coming out of the right side hole that comes from the lower unit, Nothing was coming out.

I was told it can be the muffs that are not working. BUT, the boat was also running dry on the bay. so it has nothing to do with the muffs.

*** I have concluded (im not an expert) from the lower unit where the muffs go... there should be some sort of pump or piece that gets water from the lower unit to the impeller housing... my question is what is it?? and if its possible that it can be clogged or not working to get water into the impeller.

I have attached some pictures.

thank you guys!!!

***also what is that yellow thing inside the top of the outdrive? I know its has to be oil.. but is it a different kind of oil? or is my oil messed up? with water???

thank you

Scott. thank you brother. Yes I assumed something was broken too. Its night next to the impeller housing. Could it that the water is going up to gear oil area instead of the impeller housing???

Ayuh,.... The water can be enterin' the oil cavity through any seal in the drive,...

When ya turn the motor over, does the impeller's shaft turn,..??
I hear that stub shaft that drives the impeller is known to break,...

OK you got 2 different problems there, a bad leak allowing water in the gear oil, its gonna need a vaccum and pressure test to pin that down, the other, is no water from the water intakes up to the impeller mount. Like I posted before, if you hold your muffs tight to the lower unit, have someone turn on the water, water should have come out of one of the openings in the impeller mount. That looks like a newer aftermarket lower gear housing. I bet it was replaced and someone did not get the water tube gaskets in right, or something is blocking the water intake area inside. Either way, the drive needs to come off, and the upper and lower split to investigate, Might need just new water tube gaskets and a re-seal.

Water tube gaskets are part # 75, make sure the water tube does not have a hole corroded in it and replace the gasket part # 63 under the water tube housing part # 58. Its best to remove that housing and look down in the water intake passage to make sure nothing is blocking the water flow inside. This is really a very simple system, not much go go wrong. I've had mine apart several times....
First pic here is the lower unit with the water tube housing removed, the 2nd pic is the impeller mount where water should come out from muffs (right side labeled 'in'....

It looks like you have a pretty bad leak with how milky the oil is. there are write ups on here that describe how to pressure test the drive. I recently finished this battle myself.
If you ran your outdrive/impeller dry did the impeller disintegrate? if so small pieces of rubber from the impeller could be clogging your water passages. also the rubber could have ruined the impeller shaft seal, allowing water into the casing. make sure you check that area during your pressure test.
