So, boat ran great all last season with the exception of my electric shift cable. It was severed several years ago and corroded at the repair site (long tow back to the marina)….
It was layed up properly for winter storage. Brought it home, replaced said cable and tested in driveway, with water supply from garden hose. Everything went as planned and worked out great…. Until I put it in the water yesterday. Engine started running hot. I pulled the supply line at the thermostat, no water. I blew into hose and got bubbles at the outdrive, not blocked….
Pulled outdrive and checked impeller. It looks fine.
What am I missing? Should be working fine. Could I have lost the key between impeller and shaft. The boat goes in gear and drives, until I noticed the heat climbing, so the shaft can’t be sheared….
Right?
