I heard this whistling sound coming from the control box while running down the lake. Very soft and steady. I turned off the engine, 87 50 hp Evenrude. Checked a couple of things out and found everything to be ok. Started up and never heard it again. Same thing happened once last year. New water pump and t-stat.

Any Ideas?

How hard should should the primer bulb get? I thought
I was having problems with the old one because from time to time the motor would bog down when I took off. Same problem with new hose.

Any Ideas?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Noise from control box

Your overheat horn may have been going off due to something covering your water intakes and when you stopped the blockage may have fallen off...once uderway again no problems ! I would make sure though, that all seems well with the thermostats and waterpump.
Next time she bogs a little when taking off,see if giving her a little choke helps. If so you are having a lean condition and may need to clean carbs or if you have adjusting screws (some do and some don't) you could open them a little. Good luck!
