I have a bravo I drive. Is it normal for the drive to make noise and vibration when operating the drive trimed all the way up? It's fine at idle but anything above that does not sound healthy. For example, it the boats out of the water, trimed up and I'm flushing it, if I rev the engine I get this sound almost like it's binding and a vibration accompanies the sound. Or is it just that it's not designed to be operated in this postion.

It's the position.I always trim mine as close as possible to bottom position for all muff running as per the advice of all the boat smart people on this site.If memory serves me correctly it binds the u-joints,stresses the gimbal and the main shaft.

Re: Noisey outdrive

Thankyou for the helpful advice. I'm releaved to know that it's not likely the beginning of the end of my drive. I'll be more careful in the future to avoid running the engine in the trimmed position.
