Folks,

I have a 1987 18 ft Manatee. that has the original flooring material. The floor seems solid but the non skid material on the surface is shot. I here there are some spray on flooring that is pretty good. The one thing I don't want is indoor/outdoor carpeting. Can anyone recomend a product and source.

Thanks
Stoked

Ahoy, Stoked Not. This may sound weird, but think about it before you laugh it off.

Go to Pep Boys, NAPA or some other auto/truck supply house and get consumer installed "Rhino" type truck bed lining, in the color of your choice. I think they offer both brush-on and roll-on versions of the stuff. Weatherproof, non-slip, and soft enough to be quiet.

I have seen this done on deck boats and 'toons and it is marvelous.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

J.B. I wish I had seen this question a couple weeks ago. I just bought a gallon of Non Skid paint and painted the interior of two alum. V hulls. It worked great but I could have saved some money. Ran into a friend yesterday who also went to Kragen's and bought their pick up bed paint and it came out great, Price?, two cans, $16.00.

Happy boating all, Hal

Hey chum,

Just make sure it's clean, clean, clean. Might help to wipe it down with some acetone or tulol first to make sure you get a good bond.

I've never seen it in lighter colors either, that's why I have not used it in my Lowe Roughneck. I have an aluminum deck attached to the tops of the floor ribs. It is duck boat green, and it gets pretty hot on sunny days.

J.B and others, do they make it in light grey or off white?

the black doesn't get hot; check out the bed of a pickup on a hot day/ it's just a little bit warm. the stuff does come in other colors though. I've seen white and grey.
