Hey I have never ridden or even thought about getting a ski untill now.

I have no clue about them but need a little advice. There are 2 local to me
#1 96 seadoo gti jet ski on trailer - $1500
#2 1996 Polaris SLT 700 w/ Sing Place Trailer $1800

both seem in similar shape. I dont know if there is anything good bad ugly about either of these skis. anything one either prone to failure? just looking for a little insight i guess.

polaris no longer makes pwc's and have not for a long time so parts can be hard to find. The seadoo gti is a three seater and a good machine with the 717 (80hp I think) motor. At that price range you will only be looking at two stroke pwc's. They are solid as long as the owner took care of them. You might want to look for any 1996 and up seadoo GSX, XP or GTX. They have a 787 motor and it pumps out 110 hp. Very fun and plenty fast.

Kawasaki and Yamaha have similar machines from that era with close hp etc.

Also if you are interested in a GSX I'm a bit of a drive from you but I may be getting rid of mine....

The XP is a great machine and some would say one of the best hull designs before everything switched over to the very large pwc's that you see today. The color choices during that time frame are odd either you love them or you hate them. 97 and up seem to be better. The XP is a fun ski and it will run with most if not all of todays machines. You may want to try search tempest to search all of craigslist for a certain radius. You may find more that way. I pm'd you about that photo
