I recently bought a 1994 18' CC Sunbird Neptune w/ '94 90 HP Evinrude. I just took the maiden voyage yesterday. It ran great 39+ mph (two guys, no gear) according to GPS.

PO didn't use it much (and always trailered it), so the hull is still shiny. he'd upgraded the cap'n chairs, VHF Radio, Garmin GPS/FF/Sonar. 2 Rod/gaff holder in the gunnels. Extra prop/flare gun/5 life preservers/Danforth and rope. Basically the guy was "getting out" of boating & fishing.

I read some of the comments about Sunbird being an entry level boat etc. I guess I'm an entry level captain, so it's a good match. With 4 vertical rod holders in the console, two built ins the aft (and two rail bolt on's), I thought it was a great deal. Paid $4200.00.

I don't think I took it in the shorts?

Nah, you got a good deal. I've got a '91 Sunbird CC that my dad bought new and gave to me 15 years later. My boat, like yours, is like new. It runs great, we have fun in it and catch lots of fish. No big deal if others don't like it :D.
