I've come across this one close to where I live and it fits the bill for my next boat. 9ft beam, 22'6", and deep. I/O Powered by volvo I4 and a Penta 9.9 kicker .Hull seems solid and stringers (the ones I could see) look dry and in good shape. Tandem axle trailer is included. I've been looking for a trailerable boat big enough for some off shore use on Lake Superior. Haven't spoke to the owner yet but he's asking 3000 for it. Anyone know anything about NABW or where I could find info on them. They were out of TX. How does 3K for this rig sound? I know I know, tough to give a solid opinion but give me your best shot.

thanks
chunky

Re: North American Boatworks S22

Some years ago, you'd see a lot of North American 22's around here being used in salt water [Gulf of Mexico]. They were good, sturdy boats and I knew several people who had them. The condition of the boat and motor would dictate what it's worth, so that's a tough call. Spend a few more bucks and get a pro to look at it if you're not completely comfortable. The Volvo I-4 was a good engine but it seems a little small for a 22 footer {AQ 130, I think it was?]

I'm gonna check her out closer this week. Gotta move fast if I plan on a water test before ice up. My first I/O. Anything I should look for? Troublespots? Clueless about the Volvos but heard they're solid runners. Why do I know I'd be paying too much for this boat. IT KEEPS CALLING MY NAME.

chunk
