Is there anyone out there who's made the run from Prince Rupert to Ketchikan and can give me some pointers as to trouble areas and nice anchor spots, I've found a couple on the charts but being fairly new to this I'm finding that what I think is good doesn't always come true.

Read up on some of the adventures of the people on c-brats.com. They are a C-Dory owners forum. Many interesting stories of people making the trip you are talking about.

Re: North to Ketchikan

When I was younger, our family made the trip from Seattle to Ketchican on both our own boat and the State Ferry. It's been a long time since, so I won't be giving any advice other than pick your tides (fuel mileage), bring a quality camera or 2, and July - September is best time of year. There's a great video called "The Inside Passage" which is a personal video of these two elderly gentlemen in a small (17'-18') boat making their way up in the 1970's? Good stuff but may be hard to locate.

On another note, why Ketchican? I grew up in that neck of the woods and can't say too much praise about Ketchican. There's so many other great little towns to explore.:)

LOL Arima ... I was once competing for a job there. At the time, I had no idea that it rained most of the time. After a little research, I decided that I just had too much affection for a little sun light now and again, to go!
