Just bought a little bolt together trailer from Northern Tool. In the box was a "Certificate of Origin for a Vehicle" signed by some nice lady in China. In Texas, do I just go down to the the DMV with this and the sales receipt and get it registered and tagged?

That's what you do in NY. Why don't you call the nice lady at the TX DMV and ask her?

Yes, that's how I registered my Harbor Freight trailer here in CA.

Re: Northern Tools Trailer Registration

They're pretty easy about trailer registration here in the Lone Star State. I bought a used boat, motor, trailer combo from a guy last year who had bought all of it used and never registered the trailer because he kept it on his property in the country. The nice lady at the DPS station just wanted to know if it was homebuilt or factory, about how much it weighed, how much it would hold and how much I paid for it. Took about 10 minutes with a handwritten bill of sale to get 'er done. Hope your experience is the same.

Thanks all.
I'll post back when I get it done.
I'll visit the DMV and see how it goes. I'm not in a huge hurry on the tag.

As advertised. Took the certificate of origin and bill of sale down to the office, paid 60-odd bucks and it's done.....
