Not sure if I'm in the right forum. But here it goes. Have a good running 1985 johnson 8hp. On a 14' aluminum with a plywood deck it won't plane out. With just me it wants to but can't get the bow down. Tried all the trim settings and have two batterys onboard that I've tried moving around. I have the normal 8.5 x 9 prop on it. Seems like this motor should plane out my setup. Have a buddy with a 5hp merc on a similar outfitted boat and empty his will plane out.
