Hi.
Thanks for looking...

So, let me get this straight:

Your alternator output is wired to the battery selector switch?

So that the alternator output is directed to the battery currently being selected/used?

i.e.

ONLY the battery selected is being used AND charged ?

Makes sense to me but my boats existing wiring had the alternators output wired the the + of the starter battery and jumpered to the + of the house battery. Considering I have a battery selector switch...

Surely this is wrong?

Thanks in advance,
-Shay

Yes..wrong. Should be wired to the starter...that's fine. Get rid of the jumper to your house battery. Move your house battery to your Perko switch when you get it installed. What ever battery is selected will get used/charged depending on the switch selection including the "Both" setting. Even better, buy an ACR to connect between your house and start battery so that the house will get charged even when the switch is selected to the start battery.
