I have a 1964 johnson 75 hp outboard. I just replaced the control cables type 3300. When I have them connected to the motor reverse and neutral clink into gear. When I move the control lever to forward it will move and the throttle will move but would not click into gear. When the cables are off it goes into gear just fine, but there is just a little bit of play from neutral to forward . Did I adjust these cables wrong or is it that movement (play) in the shift lever?thanks
