I've been boating for about a year now and this forum has been a great help but when I read the stories about the boat ramp behavior I have to wonder if any of you have ever launched on a Saturday at the Myers ramp in Coconut Grove Fl. where there are six or seven boats waiting to come in, just as many waiting to launch, people pulling in and launching at the same ramp all the time and they will even untie your boat and push it off to the side while your'e getting your trailer. Some people stay tied up to the ramp loading and drinking for half an hour. If you wanted to discuss being polite you would need a bullhorn

Re: Not just another boat ramp

If anyone pulled that crap down here in N. Texas, there would probably be 3 or 4 guys who stopped what they were doing to walk over and have a little chat with whoever thought they could unhook another person's boat. There are inconsiderate jerks here too, but fortunately there are also people who would have no problem speaking up when they see stuff like that.

'Course, you're in FL, so I imagine there could be a different breed of thug out there who would respond to unsolicited advice from a stranger with a semi-automatic.

I'm lucky. On the busy days, when it matters, the local NPS ranger stands by my local boat ramp. She is more than happy to educate the stupid and she will ticket the idiots.
