I had to start a new post to get help. Now im trying the dropshot with no success. I think my palomar knot is tied
right. But it looks twisted and seems to make the lure swim in a circle. With The worm on the hook it tends to lay down more than be horizontal. I cant seem to find a really good video of how to tie this knot.

Maybe you don't understand how drop shot works. You don't retrieve it to fish it. It's almost like bobber fishing on the bottom. The lure is neutral to slightly buoyant, and the weight locates the lure a set distance off the bottom. It can be fished right under the boat, or on a long cast depending on circumstances. I find it to be the killer technique in clear water when the fish are just off the weeds, deep, and not real aggressive.

Any plain hook will work. Sometimes a little extra shank length, like an aberdeen hook works a bit better.

Cast to the target, let the rig sink straight to the bottom, with the rod high and a little slack, shake the rod to make the bait wiggle. If it's in front of ms bass, she's eventually going to eat it just to get rid of the irritation. Patience helps a lot, and so does a good scent, like Kick-N-Bass.

When the fish takes the bait, it's a leisurely thing. Watch for the line to move, and set the exposed hook with a sweep set, not a hard yank like with Texas rig.

Give these hooks a try for dropshotting:

No palomar knot to mess with, and they work really well.

So what knot do you tie that leaves a tail for the weight?

I find the palomar knot to be the best for any rigging with the super-braid I use. For drop shot I just leave a long tail on. When I fish drop shot, the bait is all over the place gyrating wildly, so I don't see how the angle of the dangle makes any difference.

I just started doing the drop shot stuff and I don't use that knot. Mostly because I don't know how to tie it, but a super simple noose type knot has worked fine for me as long as I keep it small. Through the eye hole, twist the hook 4-5 times, and back through the gap between the hook eye hole and the twisted line, above the eye hole. I've been out fishing everyone I go with, lol. It's great! Trick I was told was, thread the "hook side" of the eye hole and after you tie your knot, go back through the "hook side" of the eye hole again. This will kick your hook out. I'm using small thin brown rubber worms and little #4 hooks. When I drop it in the water I get my line tight quickly and do somewhat fast and short little jerks. Trying not to pick up the weight and not getting slack in the line. I'm no pro by any means. Only fished like this 3 times, but caught large mouth and had a great time every time. I don't usually catch anything large mouth fishing, so this thing is great for me.

I use the improved clinch knot for just about everything except for topwater and some jigs... and it works on any kind of line I use.

I don't just drop my shot rig straight down, I cast it out and will drag the weight accross the bottom until my line becomes vertical and then do the jiggywiggle... and I do catch fish on the retrieve. It's not much different than having the wind blow your boat while fishing vertical.

We also use a presentation around here called "Bubba shot" or "Bubba Rigging". We use it earlier in the year when the fish are shallower and the water isn't as clear. The rig is a drop shot but with heavier line and weight and it is mainly cast out and retrieved. This rig works well when the weeds are 1-2' off the bottom to keep your plastic just above the weeds. The extra weight also allows you to cast the the light plastic further. This rig also works well when you have a slime or moss on the bottom of the lake that can foul a Texas or Carolina rig. It's also a rig that fish haven't seen a lot, and that helps too.
