I went out to the river wendsday and launched and used my bow mounted trolling motor to pull myself out to the middle as the current is very strong right now and did not want to hold anyone up as the where launching.

So get out there and go to start motor and does not start so drifting along working on the motor. Get it cranked and take off and having trouble getting on plane then leans way to right, thinking damn somethings wrong and slow down. I stop and think well let me troll to the stump tie off and think what could be wrong, go up sitdown and use trolling motor to motor to stump tie off and sit there for a good ten min before i relized I did not have to put trolling motor down to troll to stump.

Laughed pulled trolling motor up and she planed an ran like a dream :)

Re: Not to bright of a move

Ha! I did that the other day. I fired up the outboard and punched it to move to a new location after fishing the reeds for awhile.

The outboard just didn't seem to be performing right, and my neck was getting sprayed with water. Man, that little Minnkota Endura 30 really kicks up a roostertail if you're going 25mph and it's down.

Funny stuff...and, of course, it happened while I was fishing with my brother-in-law. I'll hear about that until he does something equally dumb.

You get the bow up a little more and you could make Margaritas . . . :D

Quietcat...great product idea. Let's do a miniature outboard motor for drink stirring. What a deal!

Someone did actually make a gasoline-powered blender a few years back. Used one of those little weedwhacker engines to power it.

But, can't you just see a little outboard clamped to the bar on the deck. Pull the rope and Wheeee!, put that pitcher up there so the prop can get to it. Dang! I'm going to start buying those little outboards and go into business....

Yeah, the tilt motor would work just like a high-end fountain blender. Ya know, you put the shiny stainless "glass" underneath and then run the tilt down. I am really likin' this. Shhhhhh. I'll market on the westcoast, you've got the midwest and east.

Gotcha! We'll be millionaires. There must be thousands of those little 1-2hp eggbeaters on eBay.

We could even use Elto Pals as "retro" blenders. I'm so into this! :)

Yeah, but that thing is $370 and ours will look like an outboard.

Seriously, I have seen the weed eater type too. Obviously home built. They have big handlebars from a bycycle welded on too.

RPJS,

You're in.

Re: Not to bright of a move

OK, Aussie rights for me please. Great thread and thanks for making me decide not to get a trolling motor... I screw up often enough to not want to add to the list!
