1990 evinrude 140hp
The previous owner removed the thermostats from the motor entirely. Nothing behind either of the covers.
I've looked up the parts diagrams and am a bit unclear on the parts I need. Is there one side that goes-
diaphragm, front part of thermostat, insert vernatherm and spring, back part of the thermostat, cup, seat valve
and the other side is the same but it gets a thermostat without a vernatherm and spring?
Then there are the gaskets I don't see on the part list. Mine had paper gaskets between the thermostat covers and the head. Were those put in place of the diaphragms maybe?
