I have a 1996 carburated 7.4 Bravo II. I went to winterize it. Pulled what I thought was the 1st drain plug on the block. My engine has a guardian flush system on it . The Po pulled a sensor and teed in a hose for the flush system so natually I figured that this was one of the drain plugs. I did not get any drain water from this plug. I then pulled the other block drain and drained alot of water out of this plug. I felt uncomfortable about the 1st plug not draining water so I hooked an airhose to it thinking it was plugged with crud. It wouldnt take air. After My eyes adjusted I noticed a small plug clear at the bottom of the block. I took it out and... bingo... antifreeze came out(previously put in). The guardian system owners manual even shows to tee into the sensor plug with a flush line. I dont know if this is a knock sensor, temp sender or what it is but... This sensor is NOT threaded into the water jacket. Do not remove it!! The drain plug is located clear at the bottom right beside the oil check tube. you will need a 9/6 socket to remove it.

Hope this helps someone as green as I am and keeps someone from a cracked block in the spring

Two rules when dealing with a used boat.
1. The previous owner was an idiot.
2. The factory service manual will prove it :D

Glad you caught this before freezing.
