I have a good but modest life and want for very little. I have been asked "the" lottery question and couldn't answer it because I had no dreams of what I would do with millions of bux.<br /><br />Now I know.<br /><br />Jay Leno must be the ultimate motorhead. He collects and wrenches on everything with wheels: Antiques, classics, muscle cars, bikes (he even has a steam motorcycle!), supercars, etc.<br /><br />That seems to me like a very good use of megabux, especially if one adds outboard engines and classic powerboats to the mix.<br /><br />I may even buy a lottery ticket now and then. Never bought one before.

I'd invest the majority of any winnings i had, but only after buying myself a couple boats, a truck, and a few sports cars etc,

I watched a program in which Jay and his tean found an original Duesenberg not far from his home in LA. During the program they went for a tour through his shop... wow, that's all I got to say about that! He has over 160 vehicles in his collection... and counting!

Fisrt thing is I would put all the money into investments.<br />Set up two trusts for my two kids.<br />Buy everyone in family a new vehicle and make them give me the old one. <br />Donate old cars to charity.<br /><br />Donate enough money for 7 new Vans for the people I used to work, also donate those old vans.<br /><br />Basically live like I do now. New boats not going to make me happier nor will a new truck. I have those already. <br /><br />Oh probably pay off the house. Might get a bigger lot, house is the right size now.<br /><br />Take the wife to all the places she wants to go.<br /><br />And in ten years I will still have the money unlike almost all other lottery winners.

I agree with Realgun. Put the $ in something that appreciates, not depreciates. <br /><br />I'd get a resort up north and retire! Of course, running the resort would be work, but if you like what you are doing you've stopped working...

Yes, I'd buy a city house, a country house, and a beach house all around 500,000 each. Plenty of boats and cars. All things I could easily sell, just in case.<br /><br />Five million would do me just fine please. <br /><br />Ken

JB it all depends on the other people. Personally I think they are worth 500 dollars. Some people think they are worth millions. Maybe thats why I put 2500 dollars into my old Bayliner rather than a new boat.

As long as there is a buyer willing to pay. Look at the value of the Model T's and other older era cars. Most loosing value because those who remember and cherish them are quickly passing. The latest boom in collector cars seems to be mid 60's to early 70's Detroit Muscle prices from 30 to 100k not uncommon for cars that sold for 3 to 5k when new.
