Now why would I... want to take a boat & put 2-50 HP OB engines on it when I could get a... say ONE 115 or 140 HP OB???? I saw this today on the Tohatsu website... Just one of those dumb "boater" questions that I do not know answer to it!!! I will attach the URL for you & give me the reasons behind this setup...OK!!! I can't be cost. Let me know. I seen an old Starcraft cuddy cabin with twin 25 hp Johnson about 15 years ago.

hey fone i think they did it because of the hull it's a tunnel, boat sticker says "twin-vee" that would be my guess a single would'nt work.........jim

Fone Man,<br /> Easy question, redundancy. Aircraft are FAMOUS for a backup for everything including power. If I owned a Tohatsu (Very, very, bad reputation) I would not be able to get enough reduncancy. A really advanced system would have 3 backups.<br />Good Boating! Bill
