Re: Nursing home Nurses

Im married to one of them nurses, started out in high school working in the nursing homes as an aid moved up to LVN for years and at age 40 graduated as RN. It tales some guts top work in the nursing homes, she worked about 15 years as a surgical nurse (heart) and last 2 years she moved to our little local hospital where she mostly works ER. The nurses have a tough job in about any field now.
It seems to me that about 50% of their job has got to do with Govt. paperwork instead of patient care. We used to think it was the big corprate Hospitals she worked at that caused the paperwork, but when she went to our small-town hospital (tax supported) the paperwork is the same without the corprate BS.

You bettch im for giving them all an attaboy and a standing O :D :D :D :D Seems like TX is married to one of the nurse galls also.

Two of my daughters and both of my sons in law are nurses. The other daughter and former wife are Physical Therapists.

I find it real easy to appreciate and love Nurses. :)

I agree with JB, My wife is now an RN and has worked for many years in the nursing home environment. I don't know how she does it.

My Step son is now studying to be a nurse. He is doing the clinicals and says it is really tough.

Me, I'm just watching the kids and fishing every chance I get... :D

Yep, married to one who still loves it as much today as the first day. Me no way in hell could I ever do the work they do, see what they see and keep on going. I am planning on making this a special week for my favorite nurse.

My wife is a RN in an ER and loves her job. She likes it for the challenges and fast pace. I could never do her job. I like helping people but to have to hurt them (shots, etc) to help them is hard for me. Thanks to all the nurses out there.

Its called CYA. If you don't document it you did not do it so it and will not get paid for it. Also if you did it and document it you won't be sued for not doing it.

Put my wife though RN school. Now I am happy too. :)
