What is the best way to install a outboard bracket on my boat. I am closing up the whole where the outdrive was and want to install twin 150hp's

Re: OB Bracket

Tough question ! What is the boat ?

Maybe work with the boat manufacturer on this.
If I may presume ... you had a v8,maybe big block in this boat, and it's center of gravity was about 3 feet ahead of the transom.

Now you want to 'patch' a hole in the same transom.Put a bracket on it,and mount 2 motors, probably 800 lbs.,3 feet aft of the transom.

I'm not trying to ridicule you or anyone, just getting the picture.

With 150 hp's as costly as they are I would buy a boat with them, made for them.

DHP

Obviously some glass work and reinforcing is required. You'll need to know your transom angle now as most I/O's have a different angle than outboards.

This type conversion is done all the time. Very common. Pick a glass shop that has experience or contact the manufacturer of the bracket you choose (Stainless Marine, B-bracket, Armstrong etc) for specific details on your boat.

Should make a very nice rig when done. Good luck!
