so, I went to start the old mercury 18xd and do some fishing.....yeah. didn't end well. the choke knob came off in my hand. as it turns out, a lot of the plastic linkage parts were brittle and....well.....are no longer useable. came to discover that half of them are obsolete. so, I am about to think total craziness.

has anyone ever installed an electric choke, and, for that matter, electric starter on one of these? either that, or can anyone tell me where I can find a 41703 primer lever, and an 11024 1 actuator primer? I realize how ridiculous this will sound, but, they are apparently like virgins in Las Vegas.

thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

What is your serial #. Does your motor have the actual primer assembly with the diaphragm? Or does it just cover the little hole on the top of the carb?
