Hi,

I have a 1994 150hp Johnson Oceanrunner. I've had a problem with stalling lately but I think I found the problem that may help others. I checked everything from fuel, powerpacks, coils, carbs etc. It ended up being the switch located at base of then shift linkage. Its the switch that causes 3 cylinders not to fire when you shift into neutral. It appears it was causing the 3 cylinders to drop at certain times. I disconnedcted the switch and all is well. Can anyone give the correct term for this part? Also I'm having a tough time finding the correct part number.

The assembly is referred to as Shift Assist. The switch itself is part 584666 "switch and cable".

The parts are shown in the "cylinder and crankcase" diagram for your motor, here: http://shop2.evinrude.com/
