Octane rating.

Is it okay to run premium gas in my 96, 50 hp Johnson. I would have to decarbon more often if I do, correct?

You can run all tha hi-test, premium gas in your engine you want to. However, it's gonna cost ya more money and you're right, you'll have to decarb more often. <br />Regular unleaded will work just fine for ya. <br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty

Yeah, it won't hurt it, but it won't help it either. I'd go ahead and use it up and go back to regular.

Yeah regular is a little cheaper but I have the premium so I will use it up and go back reg. Thanks for the tips. Happy Boating.
