I have removed my riser on merc 5.7 for inspection and it had a ss metal gasket. I ordered what I thought to be OEM gasket (Quicksilver), what I got was a silver(ish) paper gasket. Is this an acceptable replacement? I did find a stainless steel one GLM offers but not familiar with them. Anyone has experience with that brand? Also, are the riser bolts torqued to 33ft#s?

Yes, it's the only acceptable gasket for that location.

Also known as 'Good Luck Marine'.... All too familiar unfortunately 🤦
