I have a Johnson 175 with the original SS 14.5x19 prop. The prop has the ring on the back and not vented.
I also have a Stiletto SS 14.25x19 that is vented. I was wondering if it may perform better than the Johnson prop.

My WOT is about 5300 right now, have not got my new speedo installed yet.
I also have a Raker 14.5x20 i can play with also.

I also need to raise the engine up one more hole, just wondering what you prop gurus thought about the difference in these props...
Thanks

Re: OEM verses Stiletto

I ran both the Stiletto and the Raker on my 18ft glastron with a 150 Ficht. I eventually chose the Raker even though it really wasn't much different than the Stiletto. Both props had good bow lift and had a good grip on the water and rarely let go even while trimmed full out.

Jimbo hit it again. The Stiletto and the Raker will be very comparable. Both will like more X dimension than the SST II. If yours has a ring and not the flare it's an SST I.

Re: OEM verses Stiletto

Thanks guys, The prop that was on the 175 Johnson when i bought it has the ring on the back end. Its in perfect shape but was wondering if the vented props i have for my OMC I/O may perform better.
When i get my transom finished and install my speedo i will test all 3.
Does the vented props make much of a difference on an outboard? I think the brand new Stilleto will look good on the 175..

The vents will help holeshot. They won't affect top end at all.
