Just took me a week to get seized transom bracket off.Now cross pin that holds shaft on trim rod to motor is Jammed tight.Any ideas how to get this off.Motor trimmed up for TTpump repair and not much room to swing a hammer.Pin was in flush so no nail head to grab. Thanks for any ideas/help.

Well, I'd hang the engine from a hoist and remove the transom brackets from the center piece. Then you should have access. I'd get a helper and have them put a 10# or so sledge hammer behind the pin with a suitable deep socket that the pin will slide into on the other side of the engine.

Get on this side with a drift and maul and go after it.....after a generous application of a quality penetrating oil.

Thanks mark, don't have a hoist. Not sure if your on the right pin.I'm talking about the Cross Pin(size of nail) which is punched through retaining Pin(size of 3/4 inch cylinder).
I've heard you can just bash large pin with sledge hammer, till cross pin shears off.Normally wouldn't go destruction route, but this w/e repair job is into week 3.I'll even use dynamite if it'll work.
